How eBates works

Follow these steps and save some money every time you shop online!

STEP 1 : Join eBates

Join for free simply by giving us your email address. We need your address so we can contact you when you have earned cash back. Sign-up or sign-in to get started. You can start shopping and earning cash back as soon as you sign-up.


STEP 2 : Search your store

Search your store from search bar. You will see some options for you to select. Click on the store name that you want.

For example : eBay

From the search results. You'll see the Cash Back percentage. Make sure you do click SHOP NOW button.

STEP 3 : Click SHOP NOW button and start your shopping

After you click Shop Now button. eBates will take you to the store website. Again, eBates will tell you exactly how much percentage of cash back you will earn from shopping at this store right now.

STEP 4 : Track your cash back!

You can log in back on your eBates.com account anytime to track your cash.
Click on you "account" tab to find your dashboard. When you click on "Cash Back Activity" you'll see the summary of each of your shopping done through eBates - details include dates of purchase, store names, total amounts AND!! your exact CASH BACK amount.

STEP 5 : Receive your money in checks or Paypal account

Every 3 months, eBates sends you a cash back payment for purchases posted during the previous quarter based on the schedule below.

Ebates offers several ways to receive payment and is constantly working on ways to pay you faster. Visit My Ebates to view your cash back setting or go to Big Fat Payment Settings to change your setting. Note that you must sign-in to change your Big Fat Payment Settings.

 How to make sure that you are earning cash back 

Purchases you make at Ebates stores are only credited if you start your shopping session at Ebates.com or another Ebates service (like the Ebates toolbar) and click to a store via an Ebates link. As much as we'd like to give you cash back even if you do not start shopping via an Ebates link, we have no way of proving you are our member to the store without your click.

If you click through Ebates and make a purchase, then surf elsewhere on the Web and return to that store and make a second purchase, your second purchase will not earn a cash back reward. (You must click through an Ebates link every time you shop at a store site.) If you use multiple windows on your browser, the window in which you shop at the store must have come from an Ebates link. Also, while virtually all product purchases at the stores are eligible for cash back, there are a limited number of products that do not qualify for cash back.

What if you want to return or cancel an order?

Returns are subject to the return policy of the store from which you purchased. If you return or cancel an item, eBates have to reverse any cash back earned from that sale.

Exchanges also usually reverse cash back awards. In the process of an exchange, the store cancels the old order and replaces it with a new one. When the store creates the new order, it usually fails to capture the referral from Ebates and credit us a commission.

To avoid losing cash back on an exchange, eBates recommends returning the merchandise and making a new transaction via Ebates.
